"The setting is so relaxing that we did not want to leave. We could have sat listening to the sound of the water from the river and watching the wildlife all week. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking our evening meals and eating al fresco. The small village provides for immediate necessities and there is a large Aldi just a few minutes away. There are lots of places to visit in the surrounding area. Highly recommend the property. Owners brilliant at communication."

"The Rookery Cottage is a beautiful cottage in an amazing location. The grounds are well presented and the view of the adjacent river is hard to beat. We loved the fireplace at night in a cosy but large living area and all of the family enjoyed the property"

"We had a wonderful time at Rookery Cottage. The situation was fantastic - lots of walks direct from the cottage in the most beautiful countryside. Our little granddaughter loved the sledging which was provided by the owner. We have stayed in lots of self catering cottages in Derbyshire, but never in one which was so well equipped. It had just everything for all needs. Hope we can repeat our stay."

"We have all so enjoyed another stay in this idyllic cottage - such a perfect picture-postcard location. Sitting on the patio in glorious sunshine, sipping our wine with the river tumbling by is a very hard act to follow! We were all very sad to say goodbye, but will certainly return one day. "
